1) Exploding Kittens
The most trending game of 2016 was also one of our favorite reviewed board games of 2015.
Exploding Kittens has a simple enough premise: draw cards until you draw an exploding kitten and then you lose,
which sounds fun and lighthearted—and it is! With a game that only takes 10 minutes to play and with nothing more complex than a pair of dice,
deck of cards, and tokens, Exploding Kittens will engage your gamer friends without forcing them to do hours upon hours of research online to figure out
what exactly they’re doing. And since it’s free to download, there’s no reason not to try it out.
2) Yandere Simulator
Your future may be in peril, but it’s still a great time to have fun.
At least that’s what Goat Simulator wants you to think.
The (extremely stupid) simulator lets you become a goat and wreck things as realistically as possible.
And if you don’t believe us, just watch any of its thousands of YouTube videos .
If you need more convincing, here are some reasons why it should be one of your favorite games right now:
1. It has more than 200 million views across all platforms (like PCs and mobile devices).
2. It was available on Steam for less than $10—and is still there right now !
3. It has an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 from over 17,000 reviews.
4. Its developer is so confident in his game that he made a video showing off how much money he could make by selling his business (which makes sense when you consider he made Goat Simulator ).
5. It includes features like flinging goats at cars , goat-flinging , and everything being on fire .
In other words, it sounds like something we would do while drunk at three o’clock in the morning—which makes it perfect for today’s generation!
3) I am Bread
There’s a lot of stigma around adult coloring books,
but I Am Bread is an art game that feels more like an interactive installation than a game.
Choose your favorite bread and get to work. The goal? To transform into toast by smearing butter, jam, and cheese all over yourself.
As you blend in with your food environment,
you’ll be challenged to avoid obstacles such as knives and forks by taking off shirts or diving under tables.
Don’t forget to take pictures along the way for extra points!
It might sound silly, but I Am Bread was widely popularized because of its parodic humor and fun gameplay mechanics.
Currently, one of the most trending games in North America is Undertale.
Released just a couple of years ago, it’s already considered a cult classic and has won multiple awards.
The plot revolves around controlling a human named Frisk who has fallen into an underground world filled with monsters.
Your only option is to kill or befriend them as you make your way to complete your goal;
which seems simple enough, until you remember that every action—big or small—has huge repercussions throughout everything.
If you love retro games, horror films and fairy tales then don’t miss out!
Let’s dive into why Undertale keeps millions busy daily.
5) Five Nights at Freddy’s
Five Nights at Freddy’s is a point-and-click survival horror video game developed by Scott Cawthon.
The game centers on a fictional pizza restaurant called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza,
where the player must act as a night security guard, defending themselves from malfunctioning animatronic animal characters by tracking their movements through surveillance cameras.
Five Nights at Freddy’s was first released via Desura on August 8, 2014, and later through Steam two months later.
As of January 2015, Five Nights at Freddy’s had sold over 1 million copies.
A sequel titled Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was subsequently released in November 2014.
6) Goat Simulator
For reasons beyond human comprehension, Goat Simulator is currently number one on YouTube’s trending games list.
Goat Simulator is a game about causing as much destruction as you possibly can as a goat.
It has been described by critics as everything that is wrong with video games today and the end of western civilization.
In other words, it’s all fun and games until someone gets Goat Simulator Syndrome (GSS).
GSS causes players to become violent sociopaths who start setting things—and people—on fire while they mutter to themselves in Swedish.
